What Teachers Make
In three hours, I will be sitting in an interview for an opportunity to teach English at a new school. After all these years, you’d think I would be jaded about teaching (and at moments, I am), but right now, I feel like gobbling up more of the latest teaching theory. I feel like writing the best syllabi I’ve ever crafted. I feel like walking into each and every class ready to have fun and share insight and maybe, just maybe inspire.
This is why I teach – the chance to make a difference. For all the teachers out there, enjoy this little bit of inspiration for yourselves as you start a new school year. And for all you students out there, pass this on to your favorite teacher. We all need to be inspired, too.
