This morning, when I opened the front door, a ruby-throated hummingbird darted away. Then, I saw his sparring partner in the maple just beyond the porch.
I am elated.
One of my favorite summertime activities is watching the dive-bombing competitions between male hummingbirds. They whiz by my head so close that I can feel the breeze from their wings.
Now, here at God’s Whisper, I can feel the kiss of their flight again.
Those tiny wings and that heartbeat so fast it must be fed constantly – they will carry me through the burden of today.
