From our fishing trip last weekend for Philip’s dad’s birthdays.

Whew, this week has been a whirlwind, but sadly, most of that frenzy was not for the farm . . . except of course, Philip’s sowing of the rye by headlight.

See, I’m publishing a book in the next few weeks. And Philip is using his amazing skills to help me design the cover.  Plus, we’re spent quite a bit of time coming up with a title.  Busy, busy.

We’re at the stage with this dream that the planning has to coincide with the action.  Hence the timber frame show and the farm safety workshop. We need data and ideas, and now, we need steps forward.

This part of building the farm is both exhilirating and exhausting. Last night, Philip and I could have gone to bed at 9pm and been quite happy, but we didn’t. We stayed up to work on book covers and talk about weekend plans – chicken coop doors and barn company calls.

For a long time, I’ve been living in the world of the dream – hopes and big, far away plans. Now, the plans are here – rubbing against our fingerprints – and I’m thrilled and trepidatious.  Still, we move forward.

So bear with us while we’re busy if you will. We’ll have more photos soon – got to show you how amazing the hillside above the lean-to looks with the lingering golds of autumn.  And Meander’s Calendar (with the fancy name chosen suggested by a Facebook fan) will be available in the next week or so.  We hope you’ll pick one up for you or a friend – all the proceeds will benefit the farm . . . and boost a certain puppy’s ego.

Plus, mark your calendars for December 14th. We’re throwing a book release party that afternoon – with hikes and bonfires, a potluck dinner and a reading from the book.  You’re all invited.  It’s going to be a blast.

Thank you all for the ways you support us – with goat fencing gifts and cards, messages and tweets.  Truly, you are our community, our Whisperers.
