by Maria Murnane- I’ve loved Murnane’s work for years, and while I’m just beginning this, her newest book, I’m excited to delve into it with a mug of tea and lots of blankets.
Plus or Minus: Keeping Your Life, Faith, and Love Together Through Infertility
by Matt and Cheri Appling – I don’t know the full experience of infertility – at least not as intensively as the folks whose stories are in this book, but I do know what it is to long for children and watch people you love give birth or adopt again and again while you are not in a place to make that happen. I’m eager to read more, find comfort, and settle into the community of these pages.
Let’s Get Visible: How To Get Noticed And Sell More Books (Let’s Get Publishing) (Volume 2)
by David Gaughran – I just finished this one -recommended by Ed Cyzewski – because I’m trying to be more proactive about marketing my books (see what I did there? 😉 ). He had some really good advice – although I admit to getting completely lost by his discussion of the Amazon lists. However, I’m glad to have the book available for reference when it comes time for my next book launch.

Natural Goat Care by Pat Coleby
– I’m not sure we’ll ever have a completely “natural” goat herd, but I do like Coleby’s wisdom about how to care for the goats so they stay the most healthy. Good basic book on goats in general.
The Christian Imagination: Theology and the Origins of Race by Willie James Jennings
– This book is dense, but good. I’m changed by every chapter.
The Known World by Edward P. Jones
– I was determined to delve hard into this title, until a friend told me that the author said he did no research for the book. Now, I’m conflicted. The title has won big awards, but when I hold myself to high research standards, do I want to read a book that does not? What do you all think?
I’m still working through Salvage the Bones by Jesmyn Ward and Faithful Place by Tana French (on audio), too. Really, I just need to finish some more and move on, right?
