The FREE Stay-At-Home Story Summit for Writers
If you’ve read this blog for any period of time at all, you know that I am a serious fan of the work that Kirsten Oliphant does for writers. She’s transparent. She’s honest. She’s funny. But above all, she’s helpful simply for the sake of being helpful.
So when she invited me to participate in her upcoming Stay At Home Story Summit, I jumped in with enthusiasm (and a far amount of nerves about recording my own video, if I’m honest). Here is why I love this event – besides the fact that Kirsten is putting it on:
- It includes AMAZING speakers like Mark LeFebvre from Draft2Digital. (Mark is a powerhouse and another incredibly generous person). Evan Gow from StoryOrigin is speaking as is Roland Denzel, whose name I know from the Self-Publishing Show, and so many folks that do things from podcasting to publishing to editing to, well, anything to do with writers.
- There is no up-sell. In other words, when you sign-up, you’re not going to get a bunch of free stuff followed by a bit pitch to buy. This event is simply free for you.
- It’s not going to put you on a bunch of email lists and then fill your inbox with too much info. Nope, you’ll be able to sign-up for people’s lists if you like what they teach you, but there’s no automation there.
- It’s all online – as are most things just now – so you can attend safely and in your “I’ll be your Huckleberry” pj pants if you like. (Big high-five if you also have those pants and got them in Anchorage.)
- It’s 100% percent FREE. No strings. No hidden fees. Just FREE
I’ll be doing a talk about the Five Foibles Writers Can Avoid Before Hiring An Editor and sharing some key things that you can work on before you hire an editor. My hope is that this advice will help you improve your manuscript so that when you hire an editor or go to solicit an agent, your book is as strong as you can make it.
Details are loading to the event page throughout the week, so go ahead and sign-up and keep an eye on the event page for more details about who you’ll hear next week when the Summit goes live on May 19th.
Over in this beautiful community of writers this week, we are talking about what personality and skills assessments tell us about ourselves as writers. We’re sharing our links and posting goals. We’re supporting one another as writers.
If you’d like to join us, we’d love to have you. Membership is $2.99 a month, but if that’s a financial hardship for you, please let me know. I have one scholarship available from a generous member.
You can get all the details about the community and join us here.
We’d love to see you there.
